So to make a long story short, top-selling men’s cologne is:

#10 – Burberry Brit by Burberry

My Burberry Men's cologne

It is a fresh, oriental, and woodsy fragrance, first released in 2004 and up till now it’s still a pretty big seller. If you are a man who is confident with his sexuality, if you’re modern and sophisticated – you deffinately want to wear this cologne. Perfect for both day and evening, work and night out.

#9 – 1 Million by Paco Rabanne

First of all – I really like the bottle. It looks like a gold bar and every bottle has its own unique serial number. Citrus and fruity, this fragrance is intense. I think this is the strongest fragrance I have and the longevity is great but maybe it’s just me. If you’re not really into sweet scents – this one might not be for you. But girls can also wear it, it’s been marketed as unisex. For the full review click here

#8 – Obsession by Calvin Klein

Obsession

This fragrance was first released in 1986 so in 2013 I can easily call it a “classic”. It is a barbershop-type of cologne, a lot of woods, a lot of spices in it, and nice fresh citrus on top. When you initially spray it, it may come across as a very aggressive and bold cologne but it will come down very quickly so give it some time and it will dry down to very smooth vanilla with musk and spices. #7 – Colonia by Acqua Di Parma

Acqua Parma

Expensive smells that way, and worth every penny. It is a unisex, traditional cologne and has the strong Mediterranean and citrus aromas (lemon, bergamot)but not overpowering. On the market since 1916 (yes, almost 100 years now) so it hasn’t failed many generations of men, and I’m sure it will not fail you. Soapy, fresh and clean, one of my favorite warm-weather colognes. Actually, I think Colonia by Acqua Di Parma should be closer to the top of this list of best colognes for men but it was not up to me.

#6 – Terre d’Hermès by Hermes

It’s one of those fragrances that you either love or hate. I love it. It’s been very heavily reviewed by the fragrance community in recent years (released in 2006). The perfumer behind this scent is legendary and very respected Jean-Claude Ellena. There is a lot of citrus on the top, some orange but for me, it’s grapefruit that dominates your first impression followed by sharp, earthy vetiver. Highly recommended for any time of day.

#5 – Cool Water by Davidoff

The cool, the clean, the fresh, that is of course the legendary Davidoff Cool Water. It’s so fresh, you almost get a filling of that seawater on you when you spray it. This fragrance came out in 1988 and became an instant classic. Very similar to Creed’s Green Irish Tweed but with much lover price-mark. Perfect for summer holidays on the beach! #4 – Armani Code by Giorgio Armani

Armani Code by Giorgio Armani

This fragrance is great to wear all year and anyone at any age can really wear this and that’s why it is a great and safe gift to any man. Very safe, enjoyable, pleasant, and attractive to almost everyone, on the market since 2004 and still selling great. It starts with bergamot and lemon, in the middle you will smell cedar, cypress, and olive blossom, the base notes include tonka bean and vanilla. For the full review click here

#3 – Drakkar Noir by Guy Laroche

It’s definitely one of the big names in the US, still hugely popular although on the market since the 80s. Once you smell it you know straight away it’s something different. Drakkar Noir is very strong so one spray will keep you going for almost all day. Oriental and spicy, classic and timeless and if you like to wear dark clothes – this one will suit you very well. But remember – don’t overuse it. For the full review click here

#2 – Le Male by Jean Paul Gaultier

Released in 1985 so it’s been out for quite some time and still sells like fresh cookies. For most people I know it’s still a very modern fragrance. Some say there’s to much vanilla in it but it’s much more than that. Top notes include mint, lavender and bergamot, middle notes contain cinnamon, cumin and orange blossom, base notes are vanilla, tonka bean, sandalwood, cedarwood. I like this one a lot. And the best cologne for men is…!

#1 – Acqua di Gio by Giorgio Armani

Acqua Di Gio

It’s been around for a long time, it’s one of the leading colognes in the world (according to my own research, THE leading fragrance in the world). Every time I wear it, it takes me back to the late 90s and some good memories come to mind. It’s a very familiar smell, even if you haven’t smelt it before I bet it will remind you of something from the past. I like it but I don’t love it. It’s just there is a lot of newer, more modern colognes around and it’s hard for me to stick to Acqua Di Gio for long.

But it doesn’t change anything, Acqua Di Gio by Giorgio Armani is the best cologne for men. Ever. According to you people, don’t kill the messenger 🙂
